In the month of July 2015, over a course of just four days, five houses were broken into by burglars in the Memphis, Tennessee midtown area. This has obviously shaken the sense of security and safety of residents in the area. “I feel so violated”, is what one of the burglary victims said.
That sense of violation is perhaps at the heart of what everyone feels after their house has been burglarized. In this particular chain of burglaries (which Memphis police have yet to pronounce as being related), there have been repeated burglaries in certain houses. While in one house, it was the second successful burglary attempt; in another it was the third.

In this particular chain of burglaries, some of the things that were stolen were a passport, two flat screen TVs, $500 cash, a handgun, water heater, etc.
In one of the houses that was broken into, several items were out of place, but nothing was stolen. This was because the homeowner was alerted by the alarm system. Although the burglar got away, this particular homeowner did not have to deal with the loss of any valuables.
